Please let Brian know, I would like to wish him well.
I too, like many, many others, printed off his stories and passed it around to so many people and they all commented on how fascinated they were with them and the way in which they were told, it felt like you were there with him.
It gave me an insight into exactly what Liverpool was like during his childhood.
A couple of older friends could relate to most of his tales and this sparked more memories for them !
Let him know that he has cheered up more people than he knows about with his writings and posts on here and I'm sure they, like I, am thinking of him and wish him a speedy recovery.

For those who might like a printed and bound copy of Brian's early memories , The Garston Historical Society has published details of Brian's autobiography of his early life in Garston. It's called Tenement Kid and includes various family photos. Copies available from Community House, Speke Rd, Garston

    The best laid plans..

On Wednesday I had to have the dual mass flywheel and clutch replaced on my car - anyone with a Mondeo will know all about that. Got my car back on Thursday and planned on visiting Brian on Sunday - it's about 50 miles to the hospital and difficult without a car.
On Friday it became clear that all is not right with the wheelbearings on a couple of wheels, so the car is going into the garage again. Consequently, I couldn't risk the trip on Sunday. I'm going to ring Brian's daughter today and see if something can be arranged in the next few days.

To all on 'Yo' Just recd this e-mail from Brian's daughter.

Hi Norm and all of you at Yo! Liverpool!
    I'm sorry I haven't been in touch - it's been a mad week!
Thank you all so much for all the lovely messages you have been sending - I read them to my dad while he was asleep and again today when he was awake!!!!
He really was touched - although he is unable to talk as he has had a trachiotramy his eyes saod it all. Please keep in touch as I know it means a lot to him.
He is still in critical care and will be for some time yet but hopefully he will continue being brave and get through this.
Thanks again for your kind messages, I'll keep you all updated!
    Kind regards
    Jo
