It was the 2.25pm Mersey Ferry from Woodside which cruised down as far as the the old Dingle Point and then back to the Pierhead landing stage. Not the most direct route but one for the tourists.

Thanks for that. Yes we probably did have a chat. I was on a family tree hunt looking for old grave memorials. As luck would have it I found two family gravestones.

If you remember the lady who was locking up the church, she has fixed it for myself and HarryWick to visit the church along with another party of visiters.

It is for 1 o'clock Friday, come along if you can make it.

Glad you liked it Chris. For those who don't know the words of the song, I think they are approximately from memory

I was born in Liverpool, down by the docks,
My Religion was Catholic, occupation - hard knocks,
At stealing from lorries - I was adept,
And under old overcoats each night we slept.

When I grew up I met Bridgette McCann,
She said "You're not much, but I'm needing a man,
For I want fifteen kids, and a house out in Speke",
The spirit it was willing, but the flesh it was weak.

The reds and the blues, they have battled for years.
They've given us some laughs, and they've given us some cheers,
But scousers don't want no heavenly reward,
They just want a green card to get into Ford's.

Way back in the forties, the world it went mad.
Mr Hitler threw at us everything that he had.
When the dust and the smoke had all cleared from the air,
"Thank God" said my old man, "The pier head's still there".

    In my Liverpool home,
    In my Liverpool home,
We speak with an accent exceedingly rare,
Meet under a statue exceedingly bare,
If you want a cathedral, we've got one to spare,
    In my Liverpool home.

Thanks for the invite. From what you describe, it must have been someone else I met at the churchyard.
