    Default Birkenhead tramway

As well as the disgusting closure of 11 of wirral libraries. The Wirral Transport Museum is to be transferred into a community development trust. whatever that is ? It would be sad to see all the restored trams & buses be transfered away from merseyside, or worse go for scrap. But far worse is the loss of all those libraries, what a kick in the teeth

This is terrible news. I have visited the museum twice and have ridden on two of their trams. For many younger people, this is the only opportunity they will ever have to travel on old vehicles like that. They belong in the area in which they served. Has the decision already been taken or is there anything we can do to change things?

There is the possiblity the tramway may pass into a charity trust. No news as yet from the Merseyside tramway preservation society, or of any planed events for 2009
