Have you seen the book by our friend David Charters called Liverpool A world in one city. There are a few pages concentrating on the Italian community with a dateline mentioning that in 1919 Gabriele D'Annunzio captured Trieste from the Austrians. Always in trouble your lot

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the
tourist. Would we visit a modernised Venice of filled in
canals to view its modern museum describing
how it once was?

Ciao Debz.. Ms. Zapps:
I took your advice , while in Liverpool, (found by accident)..Piccolinos... My mate, Robbo and I, had two children with us.. and looking for a place at night to have a drink and chat was difficult.. So, a nice man at Blakes, told us to go around the corner and there it was" PICCOLINOS.".and they allowed children ...
The next day, I went for a classic italian..pasta and salad and vino... I had just come back from Sicily.. and felt right back at home..
Prego for the advice on going there... One thing missing......Cannoli's. great food, atmosphere, and priced quite respectfully... ciao naked lilac.. ps.. went about 3 times after that...
Are there any Ice cream parlours in Liverpool that typical classical Italian Ices?
