Thanks for your comments, this was just the introduction to the Scouse Italian reunion night. The main feature 'Gardens of Stone' lasts for 1hr 18 mins and features extensive archive footage, along with new interviews with past residents of the tenement blocks.
I will post details of any new screenings as soon as they are confirmed.

Great to see, Ged. I don't see any mention of the Bioletti family of Liverpool which surprises me. Maybe you could give me the contact info for Ron Formby? PM me if you would.

MERSEYSIDE’S 3,000-strong Italian community will be turning out in force for next week’s Champions League match – but most of them will be rooting for Liverpool.

While the city’s bars will be heaving with Reds, Italian restaurants are also preparing themselves for the big night.

One of the main sites will be Bar Italia in Castle Street, where proprietor Franco Colangeli is bracing himself for a repeat of the dramatic scenes that accompanied Liverpool’s last clash with AC Milan in 2005.

Around 50 specially-invited Italian guests are expected to descend on the restaurant, where Mr Colangeli has a reserved room which will show the match as it is broadcast on Italian TV. continues...

Mr Colangeli has lived in the city for 44 years and, although he is a Lazio fan, will be cheering on Liverpool.

Default little italy book help needed 2008

I am about to embark upon a project for a book dedicated to the families who lived in and around the little Italy area of Liverpool, mainly Gerard St, Christian St, Lionel St and Circus St. This also includes St Joseph and Holy cross parishes. Along with Terry Cooke author of 'Little Italy' and Ron Formby of the 'Scottie Press' families we are interested in contacting are...
Albertini, Baccino, Biolettis, Bordessa, Capaldi, Cappella, Chiappe, Colletto, Frediani, Fusco, Gianelli, Imundi, Innelli, Mancini, Marengo, Miello's, Minchelli, Minghella, Muscatelli's, Podesta, Riozzi, Sabatini, Santangelli, Silvano, Tambourini, Tremarco, Valerio, Varcelli, Vernti, Ventro, Vermiglio and Volante. Also anyone else with stories of the area are welcome too.
All information and photographs of the area which later became Gerard Gardens would be greatly appreciated either e-mail me here at the forum or e-mail to dmdanunz@hotmail.co.uk

    Thanks Debz D'Annunzio
