Those click ones are a nuisense when they're duplicated. I clicked on new posts and there were 3 pages of them.

I was going to do the black and white photos by each post code to a page but its too far gone now. Besides, you've got to look at the lot to get to possibly the one you're looking for whereas clicking on the postcode page, you'd miss the rest.

Well that's my excuse anyway and i'm sticking to it.

I'm not complaining about ur length (of the page !!!), but I've got a very short attention span and would lose interest till another time. What about in-page hyperlinks ?

Only a suggestion, after all I cheat and find something that does the work for me whenever I do anything web related

Having just uploaded the 6,500th pic to my site, it's just gone past the 200,000th hit on the webcounter.

Thanks to everyone, especially as i've just found out that when uploading, they don't count as hits as you're on building mode rather than visiting

Ged, do you have a Wirral section on your site? B#'head and Wallasey are a part of Liverpool as Huyton is.

    No I don't.

    A few reasons.

I started the site mainly to show old photos of my old area that were kindly lent to me. Ex pats started emailing me asking to find places for them in the LRO which obviously they had no access to. This included people who had moved out of my old area to outlying districts including Huyton, Kirkby and Halewood which I know is Knowsley. I don't know of anyone personally that moved over the water when being rehoused from any slum clearance programme though I know there's bound to be some - to Ellesmere Port for instance but that's Cheshire anyway.

I have friends and family in Litherland and Bootle which I pass through every weekend to get to Kirkdale to I take photos there too which I know is Sefton.

I have no desire to make special trips through the tunnel due to the costs and lack of interest i've come across though I did take a few one time when I was over there and put the blood tub pub up on my site in an art deco section.

This has nothing to do with an ingrained feeling in my mind that whilst the likes of Huyton and Kirkby wants to be and is in my mind Liverpool, Wirralians are not particularly fussed, even though if you take away a narrow stretch of water between the city centre and Birkenhead, the people and housing are very much similar. I reckon most on the West coast of Wirral actually are like the people of Southport and prefer to be distanced from being involved with Liverpool - unless they want to come and work here of course

Ged, it would be nice if those on the Wirral posted photos to you and you made a section for it. B'head rose because of Liverpool, as did all the Wirral. B'head Docks were a part of the same docks as Liverpool. Many people in the Wirral, particularly Wallasey and B'head do associate themselves with Liverpool, and live nearer the city centre than most people in Liverpool/Knowsley, and regularly shop in Liverpool getting there in minutes via Mesreyrail. They regard their city centre as Liverpool city centre. B'head also has the same feel as Liverpool.

But as you noted, in West Wiirral, as in Southport, they sneer the city for some inexplicable reason. This should not be regarded as widespread in the Wirral. BTW Ged, you lived as the crow flies, very near to Wallasey.

How about someone from the Wirral create a site for that side of the water. U can see Ged puts alot of time and effort into his site, on top of doing a day job so I can imagine he's busy enough as it is, without adding lots of extra places

Sorry for speaking on ur behalf Ged

The point is that it would all in one place.

If someone creates a good Wirral site, then maybe Ged would be willing to provide a link to it and then it would be almost like it was all in one place

Thanks WW and Scouse, all comments are welcome, much appreciated and duly noted and yes of course, if i'd rolled out of bed, I might very well had been in Wallasey - or drowned by the Mersey. I'd say that if being a true cockney is being born within the sound of Bow Bells then a scouser's equivalent might well be the Liver Buildings and many from B'head and Wallasey would certainly hear them on a clear day.

The thing is, I seem to have covered quite a bit of Liverpool in my youth, teens and 20s visiting rellies here, hanging around there, so I sort of the know the areas well, the baths, shops, chippies, schools, playing fields, pubs, whatever and so I know what's gone, what looks to be going and what's new. Over the water (apart from the prom and New Brighton) - it's all a bit alien to me.

Scouses' idea seems to be the best.

    I Agree

    I think it's because Ged's become lazy.
Can't be bothered to take a "Ferry Across The Mersey" eh.

If he gave up the Football:
Playing: as he's getting on now and won't admit it
Watching: as he must be getting depressed watching a very poor side

We may yet see a Wirral side to his site, there's certainly plenty of info out there, come on Ged, wake up, get on with it.
You're starting to sound like that fella who said he'd start a Norris Green site but is waiting for us to do the work for him....
