    Default Ex Pats

    Kev,
I am very sorry I do not know Rosemary Smith and do hope you find her.
Reason I have jumped on your post is I have moved away from my Liverpool nest, in fact 28 years.

I am sure we Scouser's are taking over the World. I live in Wiltshire and there are plenty of us here. I have Scouse work mates, We have the usual taunts about us wearing shell suits and nicking hob caps. I can as assure we get them back.

At least 4 out of five people I speak to on various call centers are scouse, I go in to town (Salisbury). Very few shops do not have a Scouser working for them.

Over seas I am not too sure but we are spreading.

    Cheers Gill

Hi Folks! Hope I've got this in the correct 'thread'. Wife and I are trying to plan a trip back home in late August /early September, and intend to travel about a bit, and not burden ourselves on rellies! Could anyone please advise suitable B&Bs around England and Wales, or chain of reasonable places to stay? Hotels are a bit too pricey! and accomodation costs will determine the length of stay! PM me if necessary. Ta!

Hi Norm, if it's major towns and cities that you'll be going around then the travelodge, premier inn or holiday inn groups are reasonably priced. If it's smaller towns and villages then look on laterooms or bedandbreakfasts.

    Default York

Put York on your itinerary - its a wonderful old place, easy to get to by train, and small enough to walk around everywhere - no car needed.

At the risk of commercialism, my ex-scouse cousin runs a large bed and breakfast there, that is only 100 yards from Gilly Gate and only 400 yards to the Minster.

This page has some nice pictures of York.

    ...and no, I don't get a cut....

I can say for sure.. The Premier Inn accomodations are reasonable and clean.. The one at Vernon St. is excellant for Liverpool area and Central.. I used them all the way to Scotland.. I recommend them also...

Many Thanks to all for the info! I've made a note of all the Links and will search for suitable accomodation.

Re York, I always loved to visit that City, my neice used to manage a shop there, and yes it's a great place to walk around! CheersAll.
