    Default oldest passenger ferry

THE Steam Packet Company is the oldest passenger ferry company in the world. The company was founded in 1830 and began to operate its first ship called Mona?sIsle. In 1831 the Postmaster General awarded the mail contract to the new Isle of ManSteam Packet Company (as it was then called). The company has a proud record of service to the Island and to Liverpool and indeed through two World Wars to the British nation as a whole.
