It's now over a decade since this work was installed on the corner of Hope Street. Sculpture by John King
Now known as the Oratory, this building was once the mortuary chapel for St James Cemetery, Liverpool.
The paved circle in the park is on the exact location of the rail turning circle.
Excellent pic, even without the ducks or geese
Sandhills Bridge with the scaffolding being removed after painting,the effect is spoiled by the breeze blocks on the right where part of the old stonework was demolished by a traffic accident.
I remember this bridge well from the 30's. It still makes an attractive
pic, Joe. But you think they could have found a dozen sandstone blocks from
somewhere and made a proper job of it.
