In the fifties I used to go to Lodge Lane Baths once a week as we didnt have a bath at home.We used to tell our mam that it was a penny dearer than it was so we could go to the cake shop opposite and get the cakes that would be stale the next day

I remember the Library in the sixties and also the Baths at the top of Beaumont Street. Lodge Lane is not like it was in the sixties a hive of activity.

Time held me green and dying
Though I sang in my chains like the sea.
