Default I'm writing a horror serial based in Lpool...

    Hey guys

I'm currently writing a horror serial set in contemporary Liverpool and I'd love to set some of it under the city. I'm researching the Williamson Tunnels, gonna go take a look next week, but I was wondering whether anyone has any links or stories about the underground - specifically, are there tunnels down there that don't get used anymore, where do they go, are there any ghost stories people know of set down there? Any help, signposting etc would be very gratefully received!!

ps. I know there's some discussions on tunnels already here but I'm specifically thinkin about the tubes, and also drawing on old ghost stories.

    Cheers

If you need any info on Williamsons tunnels - contact me via my website below. And have a nose at YouTube - Kanal von UndergroundLiverpool

It's going to be updated at the end of the week with a new look but it has a few things all the same.

There are many stories of tunnels circulating. Many of them are just tales.
The Williamson Tunnels would be a good place to start also try and get hold of a book called Underground Liverpool by Jim Moore. The central library has a copy, it is the most authoritative work on subterranian Liverpool.

Possibly also look at the railways beneath Liverpool, sections of railway tunnel have been long abandoned such as the Crown Street tunnel at Edge Hill. Also the Metropolitan Cathedral has a huge crypt and storage space underneah it, also St Georges Hall has a mass of tunnels for it's ventilation system and of course the old quarry tunnels at St James Cemetery are worth a look.

    Good luck with the story!
