Default New Brighton and Seacombe Promenades

The transformation of one of Wirral's best-loved promenades is being celebrated.

Improvements on the stretch along the Mersey between New Brighton and Seacombe have included the installation of new artwork and extra seating.

On Sunday, residents were embarking on a guided walk from Seacombe ferry terminal to Vale Park.

The walk, organised by the Friends of Vale Park, was being followed by a concert at the park's bandstand.

Mayor of Wirral, Councillor Adrian Jones, was taking part in the event on Sunday.

When I was there.. I went to Wirral, disembarked at Seacombe Ferry Terminal.. and thusly, started to walk into town.. I found it very desserted for a Saturday.. Not hardly anyone about at all.., except the tourist for the Beatles Fest... I mean Quite!! Like a Sunday morning.. but, it was Saturday...???????????

I made it to the town Hall, and walked about.. even asked a local.. where is everyone.. sort of ghosttownish..? They just said a lot were moving away.. (I did see a lot of To LET) signs..

I have seen many beautiful pics of Wirral on here.. and just wondered.. Was it only that part of Town that is a bit quite?

Cause it looked like a lovely place.. I am happy something is being done to liven it up... Any pictures of this promenade from Wirral people would be lovely.. TA...

Secombe is in the town of Wallasey which is virtually a sleeper suburb of Liverpool - many work in Liverpool. It doesn't have a centre.

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the

canals to view its modern museum describing
    how it once was?
