I went on a history walk, related to the slave trade, in the Liverpool today and one of the things that was discussed was the original church, St Peter's, which was in Church Street - well gone of course. This led to a discussion about the small gold cross - which I remember very well, and so did others so:

Does anyone know what's happened to the small gold cross that was in the pavement outside the old Woolies building in Church Street? The cross, I believe, was a memorial for the original church, knocked down for road widening.

I hope that it hasn't been lost in all the renovations - because it's a part of our city's history and I always remember it being there.

I'd be grateful for any news on this.

Thanks!
