MCM Comic Con Liverpool is coming to town and on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 March (this weekend), Exhibition Centre Liverpool will transform into a huge celebration of modern pop culture with eSports competitions, a Comic Village packed with artists and writers, colourful costumes in the Cosplay Masquerade and special guests from the worlds of TV and film.
MCM Comic Con events are the UK’s largest and most exciting pop culture shows, and the only UK based shows that bring together such a broad scope of popular culture categories including; Movies, Gaming, Comics, Anime, Television Shows, Gadgets, Clothing and Toys.

The weekend sets to host some very special guests, a real sci-fi icon in the shape of Lindsay Wagner, famous for playing Jaime Sommers in The Bionic Woman and The Six Million Dollar Man.  And speaking of iconic sci-fi roles, Red Dwarf’s Robert Llewellyn (Kryten) and Danny John-Jules (Cat) are taking a break from filming series XII of the much-loved sci-fi sitcom to be at the event.

Other special guests at the show include New Zealand actor Craig Parker, best known as Haldir in the Lord of the Rings films and Gaius Claudius Glaber in TV series Spartacus; Thomas Craig, who plays inspector Brackenreid in award-winning Canadian crime drama Murdoch Mysteries and Primeval stars Andrew Lee Potts and Hannah Spearritt, currently appearing in Casualty and an original member of S Club 7.
The debut event also boasts some top-notch voice talent, with BTVA 2015 voice actress of the year Jessica DiCicco – Flame Princess in smash hit cartoon Adventure Time – and Paul Amos and Victoria Atkin, who co-star as twin assassins Jacob and Evie Frye in Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, meeting fans and signing autographs.
Also joining the guest line-up are cast and crew from sci-fi adventure Pandorica, who’ll be showing a sneak peek at the upcoming movie as well as taking part in an on-stage Q&A.

Other attractions include the Cosplay Masquerade showcasing the amazing costumes of the UK’s thriving cosplay community, and the MCM esports zone, which plays host to a tournament for the new Street Fighter Vas as well as a League of Legends free play area.  Meanwhile, exhibitiors at the event include Universal Pictures, Manga Entertainment, Esdevium Games, Tokyo Toys, Forbidden Planet, MyM Magazine and the Japan Centre. If you are bringing your little ones along there is lots in store to keep them entertained and out of mischief!
Check out the Kid Zone within the halls and while you’re there, why not treat the kids (and yourself) to having their face painted as their favourite character from their favourite show.
The Kids Zone is open all weekend and the MCM Comic Con team will be painting faces and handing out capes while stocks last in the main hall of the Exhibition Centre!
