    if only a proper place for the Liverpool one could be found...

    I think the Birkenhead Pillar was moved from its original position during the 1960's when the flyover's and toll plaza's were constructed.

    You wonder why the Liverpool Pillar wasn't moved to St Georges Hall. Would have made a nice centre piece in the gardens or on the plaza.
