Why demolish It? Looks like theres nothing wrong with It.
Gididi Gididi Goo.
This is absolutely disgusting. The old chapel was the oldest public building in Garston and enquries had been made about getting English Heritage listing.
knock it down first then argue about whether it should be listed, it's time we started chainign ourselves to the thigns we want to stay

You take them for granted - until one day they're gone!
I'm no expert on Garston's buildings, but is it really St Francis Of Assisi Church that has been demolished?
If so, there are quite a few public buildings older than that, including St Michael's and the Reading Room and the chapel that's now a house.
It's St Francis of Assisi Primary School that's being demolished. The old chapel was a later add on to the main school building which was itself was built in the mid 1890s. The attached photo shows the old chapel , the brick main school building and the tower of St Francis Church in the background. The chapel has not been used as such for well over 100 years. In recent years, the main use for the building was as a gym and dining hall, with a preschool club in the basement

St Michael's has been on its site from at least the early 13th century. The current building dates from the 1870s. The old Chapel, after which Chapel Rd Garston was named, was built around 1837. Originally it was a methodist Chapel built by George Heald, a local landowner, in memory of his son
Another disgrace. I hate the way Liverpool is getting it's history ripped apart.
Mind you, some people would be happy with a lambanana in its place
Disgusting.
It's the wealthy money grabbers and the council getting a cut approving them.
Garston's looking odd with the newer buildings mixed with the old down streets off St Mary's Road.
I should wear clown make up and a purple suit for this disgrace of knocking down buildings.
Gididi Gididi Goo.
The school was getting demolished earlier today. You can see into the classrooms now.
