I loved Hobbies because it had all the American Aurora monster kits...Frankenstein,the Mummy etc., It also had a great Scalextrix track upstairs.
The guy who ran City Models was Gerry ( I don't think that was his real name, he was called that affectionately by his customers 'cos he was German!...very scouse!)...Sadly, I believe he's no longer with us!...He was a great guy and knew his stuff.

I bought my very first airbrush from him when I was 15.

The model shop in Bold street was a different one, that was called "Stan Catchpoles"...He specialised in Flying model aeroplanes.

    Ged...Those pics are brilliant mate.

It was on one corner of a small block, the Villiers pub being on the other.

It moved to Stanley Street, on the right, just down from Dale Street and it had a neighbouring barbers in the basement with three old fellas.

It did then move to Bold Street, near the top, on the right if walking up. Moved into the old Ace Place on Dale Street as well before closing down. Had a spell in Seel st too.
Great photos Ged. Yes it was on Bold, Seel, then Dale Street.
    It is Accomplished
