Colin, I enjoy and appreciate all of your work, but every now and again you excel yourself. Not sure if I can do justice to this one, so I'll just leave if at that for now.

Really great stuff again Colin, many thanks.
That bottom one has the bookshop that you've shown us before on the extreme right and on the left the Magic Clock - next to the one that looks as if...
Sorry Lynne, I should have mentioned it in my earlier post, it was from the St. Peters marriage records - the same one you've seen probably.
'Opic' Street is how I read it at first on that same...
Best of luck Lynne. I had a look through the 1861 census and also Slater's 1855 + Gore's 1860 but not a sniff.
Opic Street? I can find plenty of references to it, but not where it was exactly.
...
Could this be Samuel, Lynne?

Bit of a map from 1906 Trish, it has Bembridge, Hyslop, Laxey and Woodruff Streets on it. Sorry the quality isn't brilliant, but it may give you some idea.
Congratulations Daniel, job well done. I'll be coming back for more.
Capo, I can't help you with the above, but a few months ago I was in Anfield cemetery and noticed this..don't know if it's of any use.
Thanks again Kev, another great shot. Must admit I need help placing this in Church Street though.
Edit. are we sure this isn't Great Charlotte St. + Blackler's?
The one I mentioned earlier is on here.....
...
I've seen another shot of this, taken from the same vantage point, but the Liver clock says 12.44 I think.
Goodison !! Goodison !!.....are we sure that's not Anfield?
What a photo !! Cheers for that Kev
I'm with you on this one Chas, there's a few that don't look right.
This one for instance....http://www.flickr.com/photos/carrie132/2265606838/in/photostream/
Thanks grekko - nice bit of work, wish I could do it.
This Google street view from across Princes Road which might give an easier to grasp idea of where I mean.
Ged, they would be 'no entry' signs, not because it was private, but because to have traffic entering Princes Avenue from the bottom of Selbourne St. would cause havoc.
Colin, I'm afraid that is...
The setts/cobbles were there till at least the mid 60's, I used to go down Park Way to get to Stanley House in Upper Parly.
Re the bogs.........cut and paste from the LRO catalogue;
...
Grekko, yes that's pretty much where I mean.
Chris, looking at Colin's photo I see what looks to me like a curbside on the left and a curbside on the right that are pretty much the same distance...
Colin, the little lad is smack bang in the middle of the road, so for the 'gates' to swing out that far they would have to be something rather special - at least in terms of width.
I really don't...
The wide street running from the top in this LRO aerial shot is Selbourne St, and the street that runs across it just before if 'dog-legs' is Parkway.
Of the 3 rows of houses in Parkway only the...
Great photo again Colin.
I'd be very surprised if that was Princes Park gates - the roads look too narrow and the right angle of the pavement looks out of place.
If I had to guess, I would say...
According to that link there's a march tomorrow starting at 1.00pm and a rally in town - St. George's plateau I'd guess.
Excellent stuff

Here's those businesses from the 1860 Gore's, looks like the original Liverpool One.
Wonder if the Mary Moran pub became the Custom House pub.
He has a similar style to John Atkinson Grimshaw...
