Wow,
Thanks for all the replies. I haven't been around a lot over the past year due to illness. I'm OK now though ( lots of treatment later).
Thanks again.
Working hard on the Ex-Kingo's site.
Any Kingo's out there come over and take a look.

I was a bit after you Georgieboy, but Mr Howarth was still the head, and the favourite for presenting our 'bills' to for punishment. I Started first year there in 66.
Chippie,
I enjoyed your work. You write with honesty, which is a joy to read.

I discovered girls in Speke. :PDT_Aliboronz_11:
I lived at 118 Eastern Avenue. Played on the building site that was the 'Ford Road' as it was being laid.
I remember the old bus canteen at the end...
Oh boy...here goes.
Banks Road, then St Ambrose in Speke, St Teresa's in Norris Green for a while, then back to Speke, then Cardinal Newman (Next door to the Holt Comp.),
Then Clarence Street...

Hi Taffy,
Thanks for the e-mail.
I received two copies of UTBBG this morning in the post.
Nice job. I forgot about the picture of me on the back page. What a laugh :handclap:
I don't know about anybody else but I think that this is one of the ugliest buildings I have ever seen!
Sorry if this has been discussed before but you may have to excuse me on 'Newbie' grounds.
Two years ago we visited friends in Chicago Il.
We went under, over and on the MTS which includes a carbon copy of the Dockers Umbrella. The yanks have really looked after their Overhead railway....
Thanks....Ta....I think. :PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Now you've got my FULL attention!
I know that RAW is a format which carries a lot more info and is used by pro print works etc. I know it's less lossy and creates bigger files. That's about it.

The B/W photo's we get today look somehow too clean and technical. I know that there are effects you can apply in PSP to 'age' them a wee bit and get something like that old B/W texture or quality. ...
I use firefox too. I already have the English/UK dic. installed and set as default. I think the word is creeping into our language by the back door of spell checking.
It certainly did happen Sunflower. Going up onto the observation deck at Speke was also one of my favourite pastimes. (****..I wish this spell checker would stop trying to make me spell Favourite...
Hi Norm

"Between the wood and the coal there used to be a walkway that linked Banks Road to Speke Road."
Wasn't my first school along this track, on the right going up hill.
We used to re-enact...
Chris,
I went to your Myspace and then clicked thru to Scouseproud. A lot of work there.
On your YouTube vids you have one of Albert Dock and You are standing by a small hexagonal shaped building....
I'm sure it was May Day when we did this.
Each street would dress up the 'coal wagon' or similar lorry and parade through Garston hoping to be the best there is.
Being only five years old I never...
On one of our charra-bang trips to see the Blackpool lights we were on our way home and had probably well left Blackpool when a plane smashed into the building at the corner of Speke Boulevard and...
Thanks for that, I sort of thought so but I can not remember ever seeing the organisation of these trips being carried out.

Back in the sixties when I lived in Shand Street the whole street used to go to blackpool on a large coach. Does anybody know who actually organised these events, and who footed the bill.

Forgive me if this is old news but I found this interesting archive about Garston Life in the 60's. Some of it seems to be contemporary but interesting none the less.
