On this photo of 'Pembroke Place Site Of St Silas 1943' you can see P. Galkoff's Butchers, which is still there (just...
There's a car in an identical position on both photos!
We went on a trip to Allerton Towers in primary school. We thought we were going to Alton Towers. We were disappointed :)
Google's street level maps of Liverpool (taken by cameras on top of a car) are now available. For example, the view of Lime Street, outside the Futurist is available here
It's pretty impressive -...
Oops - yes, I meant Rathhbone park.
Elm's House was definitely where those new houses/flats are. The architect who designed them has a website at...
Yes, it was. Those trees you can see at the very bottom of the photo I posted are in Rathbone Park.
I'm pretty sure it was where I marked on the map. I remember it being there until about 1996 and then it was demolished and the new houses/flats were built.

And my comments from that thread where I posted the picture:
Here's a rare close-up shot of the Customs House after it was bombed in WW2 but before it was demolished. The statue of William...
I've just posted a post-war, pre-demolition photo of the Customs House here
Here's a rare close-up shot of the Customs House after it was bombed in WW2 but before it was demolished. The statue of William Huskisson (by J. Gibson) is outside. It looks like the statue is on...
That's actually after it was Lord Street Arcade, when it was BHS (before they moved next door).
The sports shop (all:sports) had a small amount of ground floor space and then a large space on the 1st floor. It had quite a low ceiling though and all of the walls were boxed in so you couldn't...
