Wouldnt the new Museum have an interest in this?
If the LFC Stadium station does go ahead, the line will certainly run from Bootle Oriel Road to Lime Street. The disused platform (and track) at Oriel Road was purposely left intact in the recent...
Yeah, its a shame more isnt done about the wapping tunnel. Its obviously still viable as people have been down it only recently and it was in fine condition (and the arena makes it more so).
The...
Aye, Wirral line dosent need to be linked to a new station, James street is fine, though they could do with adding more signage to get people to use it more for that purpose.
While using the link...
The 'extra platforms' at Liverpool Central has always intrigued me. You would have thought Network Rail would have mentioned these as part of the recent Central report, but they didnt. I know there...
Merseyrail never closed down any lines, that was all the good Doctor Beeching. Merseyrail was created when the loop + link was constructed.
Though I do agree that new lines would be nice, I think...
Ive always thought Lime Street to Aintree via Bootle Junction would be an interesting addition to the network. Both lines exist, with the Bootle-Aintree branch obviously needing the most work to...

Inside the Old Hall Street entrance, there are some large, newish, white doors that...
Well, the two disused tunnels (victoria/wapping) both go under some of the least "connected" areas of Liverpool and both head up to edge hill and could therefore easily be linked back into the...
I got this image from here: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?p=13760390
It shows the layout of the underground and disused tunnels quite nicely, along with the originally proposed...
Yep, on the far side under all the station signs. The dor is partially cut into the corrugated wall covering. There are two large holes near it so it could be for ventilation.
Thanks!
Amazing, thanks for these pictures and the offer of more!
Two quick questions: there is a black door in the wall at Liverpool Central on the north end of the Southport platform. Ive always...
