Gave my new steed a ride around the wirral, the seats not the original but is more comfortable than the racing type that was on it.
Reckon you're showing off now Joe with that fancy steed.
Now that's how train stations should look. Not like half of the ones over this side of the water.
oh, I know. but there's alot more untouched stations over that side. Even Green Lane has something cool about it. They worst example of mordernisation I can think of is Waterloo, it used to be nice, now it's reminds me of one of them farm animal bath things they get pushed through.
Won't be long before they all end up modernised for 'improvements' sake
Reckon it's to do with budgets. They gotta spend it on something. So they look for things that cause the least offence. Then we all shout cos we found it better untouched. Sometimes a lick of paint works wonders.

The track at Green Lane the shadows are caused by the space between the girders half filled by arched brick work and the rest by wire netting

The Walls look more like castle walls than a station,an old name on the station nameplate,For Lairdside
Great them Joe. Has that station had a clean up lately? Last time I was there it was dreadful. It looks great now.
Fantastic pictures.
Just how I remember it, had quite a few years getting on and off there. Think I've posted it before, but oh well. This is the only pic I ever took there.

There's loads of broken off girders in the walls, I've always wondered what it used to look like. Did the line on the the bridge by there, have a station here too ?
Amazing details I have noticed at Wirral Line Stations.
