Two exhibitions that relate to Liverpool and its past...

Just dropping in to tell you about two exhibitions happening at some of the National Museums Liverpool venues!
The first is the current exhibition at Merseyside Maritime Museum, called 'Magical History Tour', which explores Liverpool’s fascinating 800-year history. The second is a forthcoming exhibition at National Conservation Centre, beginning later in August, consisting of unique photographs of The Beatles, never-before seen in Liverpool, taken in 1965 by Michael Peto.
All exhibitions are of course absolutely free!

Magical History Tour
Until 29 September 2009 @ Merseyside Maritime Museum, Albert Dock
How did Liverpool begin? Where did the name 'Liverpool' come from? These are some of the questions you will find answers to, during your visit to Magical History Tour at Merseyside Maritime Museum. This major exhibition marks the city's 800th birhtday in style, with a look back across Liverpool's history.
Told through the lives of its people, Magical History Tour demonstrates some of the ways in which Liverpool has changed and evolved over the past eight centures. Exhibition highlights include; the Liverpool charters, a reconstruction of the long-lost Liverpool Castle and a haul of Viking silver!

Now These Days Are Gone

Want to see unique photographs of The Beatles, never-before seen in Liverpool? Then come down to the National Conservation Centre in August to see ‘Now These Days Are Gone’, an exhibition of informal shots, taken on the set of HELP! by Michael Peto, one of the great photojournalists of the 1960s.
Taken in 1965, they mark the metamorphosis of the Beatles from pop stars into the most famous band in history, with over 40 images capturing The Beatles in a relaxed, natural manner.
This exhibition has been produced by the University of Dundee.
