Cheers Ste :PDT_Piratz_26:
Williamson Square in town could do with a facelift.
The shops behind Marksys are a disgrace and it looks really downbeat.
The fountain is a major improvement but the buildings let it down. Also I notice that the fountain is rarely on. I can't see the point in spending out on a fountain if it is never switched on. The Big Wheel was good fun over Chrimbo must say I went on it and near S**t meself when I got to the top.
There used to be a theatre in Williamson Square which was knocked down to make way for the Marksy's goods entrance. The buildings there now are a let down. (Even if they are an improvement on the walkway in the sky stairs which were put up in the 60's or 70's.
Williamson Square has loads of potential but it needs attention.
Does it still hold the continental market ?
There was also a pub called the Shakespeare on the corner of Williamson Square. It was pulled down about 10 years ago and has now been replaced by a dull retail unit which no one has any interest in. Another example of civic vandalism in Liverpool.
Williamson Square.

Market Stands= Pure evil.Quote:
continental market ?
One parked his stand near my bike when It was locked on the bike locks In clayton square and It knocked one of my old lights off!
They need there own space for market stands instead of parking near bike lock areas!

Must be an Orb or something Max !!
Is that Williamson sqaure In the 80's or something too?
I noticed the sayers sign Is yellow.
Like the big kid I am, I went on the big wheel when it was there and you should see the state of the back of that row where the famous army stores is/was - there's little yards and gardens with all sorts of stuff in them.
Some more pictures from my collection - I took loads of the big wheel during the dark hours, then in the last few days before it was taken down I suddenly realised I hadn't been on it yet so I went for a ride and saw a cracking sunset.

Great pics, thanks - how did you get up onto the roof?
This evening I went up onto the roof of the Hanover St car park to see what I could see and was surprised to see that big glass dome on Clayton Square - it's a shame to build something like that but not be able to see it from anywhere! I noticed it from outside the Tesco later but only because I knew it was there.
Cheers iain,
