Was it made known that we shared it with Stavanger in Norway? Never heard that they had it joint until last year when reading on Norway and at least 2 cities host it a year.
We have a history with Scandinavians and have had Norwegian settlements in Merseyside during the Viking age and there's the Nordic church and the Nordic sailors past so it's strange we didn't know about it.
Both on the West coastlines of our country, we both hosted(permanent for us) another place statues, big cruiseline destinations and probably more similarities. They should be our spiritual brothers(lol, I know we have friendship links with Stavanger anyway)!
I did hear something at the time. Maybe we should have made more of it with more mentions of the Scandinavian connections.
Tranmere was the main settlemnet for vikings around these parts and Tranmere rovers is the only football club with a viking name :snf (41)::snf (41):
