The first one to be demolished was on Soho Street at Sprinfield end and was tarmacked over to make a footy pitch with 12ft high railings put around it, the full sized goals were made of breeze blocks - this was 1977. The 3 remaining squares on Mansfield st, Wakefield St, Queen Anne Street were demolished around 1983.

Concord close. Was that part of the four squares ? I went there once or twice to visit someone. It was mid to late 70s when most of it was boarded up and awaiting demolition. It was in the Soho st area.
Lindy. In an effort to spruce up the 4 squares - they were indeed renamed Concord Close and Cullen Close. It never quite worked though :)
My name is Joan Harris and I used to live in the four squares, would be interested to hear from anyone who lived there, I used to go to the Friary School, anyone who may know me please get in touch.
