Here's more interior photo's of Speke Hall,it's a fantastic place and I think everyone grew up with the ghost stories of the spooks that are supposed to inhabit the place.
An old/ ancient door at Croxteth Hall: (1500 which makes it 500+ years old)

Allerton Priory- This place is extremely well hidden. It has been a home for the elderly, nuns once ran it as a refuge for Irish girls. It was temporary certified 18th May 1916 for 15 girls, re-certified 1917 as a mixed school as Allerton Priory Special Industrial School for mentally defective girls under 15'. It ceased to be a Home Office school in 1933. Now, private apartments.

There are many other buildings similar in that area.
I'll defo have to have a mooch with my camera then.:)

Great Pics of the old Priory! Although I lived in the area, and my wifes family lived in Ravenna Rd, just around the corner from the Priory, I had never really seen it!! it was surrounded by walls etc and visitors had to apply to the 'Lodge' in Heath Rd. Your pics are showing us all, just what a lovely area we lived in, and did'nt really know it!!! Ta.Quote:
