Drone Attacks

No need to airlift the bad guys
to Gitmo, to any foreign dungeon.

Instead, we hit al-Qaida
where they live with missiles

before they hit us. We aim
for flawless, exact precision

to minimize collateral damage
-- and if others are hit, we can say

al-Qaida used human shields.
Innocents? Women and children?

Realistically, such deaths occur
in any war -- nothing we desire,

a consequence of the perilous times
in which we live. Less messy than

Abu Ghraib, acting hidden from public
view in remote regions, the drones make

the world safe for democracy, make
the world safe for more drone attacks.
