Hi Smurf - no it didn't, as far as I know the next station on the Old BJ/GWR line was at Rock Ferry

I'm very fond of the style of Green Lane station. Scouseinmanc is quite right; there was never a main line station here. The line did indeed run above the right-hand wall in the picture, and at the bridge over Green Lane it was 8 tracks wide. The nearest station was Birkenhead Town, about 600 yards to the North, roughly where the Rock Retail Park is. The line then entered the tunnel to Birkenhead Woodside. Town station closed to passengers in 1945.
