Less than Perfect

The photograph I felt reluctant to post:
former Gaumont Cinema, Dingle, Liverpool.
Ach, a smudge of fingerprint on the lens!

I recall circa 1962 swinging by top deck
of the number 82 bus, lurid "Dr. No" poster:
-- beginnings of sex and awareness, all

bets are off: ending expected, exciting
in its fulfillment nonetheless, my mate
Geoff and I exploring the seamy side of

Liverpool--fishnet thighs, warm breath,
Bond's warm gun barrel. All dreams end:
the cinema became a Top Rank bingo club.
