I have given up on the idea that districts within Liverpool can be definitively pinned down once and for all! You pay your money and you take your choice from parliamenary, civic, parish and local sensibility. I was in a shop in Lark Lane the other day and someone had a bus timetable of buses between Aigburth and Bootle from the 40s. Aigburth had two starting points, one in Aigburth Vale and the other in Lark Lane (Livingstone Drive). I never even knew that buses ever terminated in Livingstone Drive.Quote:

This is very interesting. It seems the East Toxteth Parliamentary boundaries extended to include Aigburth. Perhaps that's why the St Michael's area became to be known as "Aigburth " tooQuote:

I think I've got a pic somewhere of a prewar bus on the 60 showing LARK LANE i'll try and dig it out. The 1958 timetable hows a few evening journeys to LARK LANE.Quote:
