Nice photos guys (and girl ;)).
While we're on the subject, here's something a little different. The old jetty actually has a lower level. I didn't know about this until excavation work for the foundations of the new Alexandra Tower revealed a back-filled tunnel. This would have given dockers access to the lower level from the Prince's Half-tide dockside.
Needless to say, it was pretty quickly filled-in again, but I managed to sneak in and get these pictures. I think it was late 2004 or early 2005. The wooden floor-boarding and barriers on the left suggests it was used to load cargo onto the ships.
Great piccies snappel. :PDT11
Lovely photographs, way cewl the new ferry terminal loading bay or should it be cruise liner departure platform?
kat *g*!
Why Is It called New Booking Hall?
snap, gerard and kev, smashing pictures and interesting story on the subject.
full marks folks.:)
Well done snappel for getting in there-I bet nobody would know there was a lower level to it! I did see a guy fishing off the end of that jetty once. Rather him than me walking along that rotten wood...
