Great pic Ged. :handclap: Pity they didn't save all those Georgian houses!
Fine photographs, Joe and Ged! :handclap:
Cheers

Thanks everyone. The Georgian blocks at the SFX end of Shaw street have been renovated but there is still an unsightly block in the middle which hopefully will see some regeneration. Either side of it though are spaces where the property that was too far gone has bitten the dust. Part of Everton Road has been done too and hopefully the remainder including the former Red Triangle block can be saved too. These are what the preservation and heritage lobbies should be concentrating their efforts on, eyesores on major thoroughfares into the city, not blocking 5.5b worth of investment into derelict land.
Hi again Ged
Nice to see the old retained and "done up" rather than to be swept away. We need to treasure what remains of the old and good Liverpool architecture.
Chris
Agreed Chris. I like the way Grosvenor incorporated and developed some of the dilapidated warehouses into shops in L1. Likewise a whole array of developers have turned old warehouses into apartments with full uptake around the ropewalks area.
Thanks Ged, I think that was either my Doctor or Dentists surgery in the 60s, looks very nice !

old liverpool pub by exacta2a, on Flickr
A portrait of Lizzie Christian has been added to the Globe pub. Lizzie as everybody knows in liverpool stood in Great Homer St with her barrow selling fruit and flowers for many years.
Her name lives on, as her family still sell fruit just outside this pub.Inside the pub there are a few more photos of her.
