Urban advices for beginners

hi everybody,

i'm a brand new member of the forum, and i'm very happy fo find these interesting topics about liverpool (please pardon me, my english is not my native tongue!).
i'm about to stay in liverpool for a few days, and we are 8 urbanists, and we would like to make Urban Exploration! but without any knowledge of the city, and short time, we'd like to have a few advices about where to go (North, south..) and who to meet to have an authentic view of the famous Liverpool. for example i have studied longtime ago the history of the irish migrants, and i know this story was important in Liverpool. but is it still trully leaving as a urban architecural or social structure?
so if you have any idea to guide us or just to talk, i'd be very happy:)
