bambers /liver street lodging house

Hi all,
Wonder if anyone can help? I am trying to trace the bamber family Joseph Mary and daughter
Mary-ann who I believe owned a lodging house around the liver street area. The family story goes that my great-grandad Peter Jenson born in Copenhagen 1844 who was a sailor sought out lodgings in this area and met Mary Ann who became his wife. At some time he changed his name to Johnson although I am not sure he was officially nationalised as British.They married in 1868. Can you please help with any info.
