Kent Street entrance to East Village
Can`t wait all day Kev,sorry
Interesting one GD, don't think I've been down that road.
Interesting pic, Joe. What did those sandstone arches belong to originally, do you know?
Chris
I`ve no idea Chris, all the area had quite a lot of warehouses so the wide arch could have been the entrance for horse and carts.
Just dicovered this, the National Cash Register had a building between Kent St and Cornwallis St
This is a picture by Hardman showing the ornate floor so it must have been a grand building
see below.

My missus worked in Kent Street in the 1980s in a place called City lighting which was the corpy dept for the city's street lighting. Back then, Kent Gardens tenements were facing it on Lydia Ann st and Cornwallis st old sal****er baths building was standing alone. She then moved nearby to Colquitt st college. Al lthis area was desolate back then and when we drove there recently, she couldn't recognise it. They've done well revitalising that area with apartments, bars, cafes and shops.
Lenka that pic is fantastic, I love it ! :handclap: :)

Looking across the Canninghalf tide dock from the window of the maritime museum
Hello Joe
Fine photograph but I have to once again lament those excuses for new buildings that are cluttering the view of the Graces. Ugh.
Chris
"I love that picture"! It says such a lot! Old and New, both on land and sea! Thanks Joe.:PDT11
Attachment 21407'Stumped' if I know why I took this.
Perhaps it was after you'd just cocked your back leg against that tree stump?

Some stubs can be put to use .This is an armchair carved out of one, with a chainsaw. Some of my grandchildren at a family wedding.
