Nice one Samsette.
All the pubs in our area are still open, with the exception of the Cygnet which appears to have closed. Perhaps we're all just drinkers here in the Swan ('cept me of course).
The "Brookhouse by me,closed down recently! The manageress said she had to make £5,000 per month, for rent etc, before she could make anything for herself! She had to buy her drink from the landlord(Punch taverns,I think) even though it was available for less, from other suppliers. Seems like these pub companies are just being greedy!! The pub has opened up again, but the place wasn't too busy, when I went, and it reminded me of the "Cygnet",as I knew the guy who was put in there, as a relief manager, but with no great commitment expected to keep the place going,so as posted by Burkhilly,it didn't!

Nice one Joe. The Crown used to be a great pub. I thought it had shut a wile back The Leprachaun used to be The Park Hotel, then the Tut and Shive. That was closed last time I was there. The Hamilton used to be a bank.

The Boundary has now been demolished, photo taken in its last few days, November 2010. The site is being prepared for construction of a new Health Centre, I believe.
That's a big one as well isn't it?
Yes, there have been a lot closed in the area over the last few years.
Nice photos Joe. Never had you down as a boozer...

Nice photo Lindy.
It's a poisoned chalice that pub. Whoever decides to open it up again will only ever get the scally/druggy clientele that it's always attracted. True story...my sister-in-law's friend won a raffle in the Cygnet about 15 years ago. The prize?...£500 of weed!
