Does anyone have any pics of these vehicles such as W.Costigan, Waterworths, Schofields, Scotts and local hauliers of the time.
Also if anyone can remember what colours these vehicles were painted.
Any help please.

There are some on my site, usually just by coincidence in the street scenes.

For xkopite! You may find these of some help!
Can't vouch for the accuracy but the details are as follows:-
1st pic; self explanatory!
2nd: Schwepps, British Oxygen, Bass & Co Burton on Trent, Tizer.
3rd: John Smiths Beer, Ovaltine, Ever Ready, Oxydol, Cherry Blossom.
4th: Golden Shred, Grand Hotel, County Borough of Doncaster Bus, Leyland Paints, Fords.
Thanks for the photo i used to stand on that corner all night with my mates no matter what the weather.
I was interested to read about lorries with a figure in full Indian headdress. It sounds very much like vehicles built by 'Guy.' I am a huge fan of buses and know that Guy also made lorries. I saw a Guy Arab bus at a show in Essex last week and just happened to take a photo of the mascot. I shall post a photo of it here and perhaps it will jog the memory of the original poster. I think that it might originally have had a brassy effect and that the colours were added later.
Many thanks Rubyroo, rings a bell now.
Does anyone remember this firms lorries, I need to know what colour they were painted if possible.
The museum have one in storage but no colour details.
Thank you
