So Duct-Tape My Mouth
I was readying the trash
to take to the dumpster;
last night's pizza box cut
a slit in the super-strong
steelsack; went to duct-tape
the gash with a silver "ex"
but in snipping the tape
I made another slit.
I dreamed a dream last night
-- I was giving a reading
before a large white screen
with tiny letters at the base:
The Surgeon General has
determined that poetry is
hazardous to your brain.
It might make you think.
