Great pics. Ha, I wonder what the second image was supposed to represent?
Me neither - It would be a much shorter thread if it was called "Go! Post a Flying Liverbird Picture!"
I'm completely flummoxed over what it represents. Mandy's thrown us a curve ball here, and raised the bar for us all as well. Perhaps it's something that Mandy has made herself? Come on now, own up time - it's a Blue Peter special isn't it? :)
:D...here's the plaque

Thanks Mandy.
I wonder if the art deco knight is meant to be Britainnia?
Done any liverbird spotting lately? Me neither but this one was spotted by Sue Adair who kindly sent it to me, Bexleys. Butchers. 611 West Derby Road

There’s a rather nice showcase in the New Museum on the theme of the origin of the Liver Birds, wherein each of the various birds pictured stakes its claim to be the true Liver Bird…

Then there’s this one… Can anyone tell us where this was originally? I think I know, but can’t guarantee the authenticity of my information…

Cad says....'Watch this space' on Liver Birds...
My guess would be the Sailors Home, Cad. Do I get a prize?
Cheers

Dunno where Cad's gone, but someone on another web forum has confirmed my belief that, yes, it was over the main doorway of the Sailors' Home. According to the Chester Walls website, which has a lot of info on the Sailors' Home, the Liver Bird was rescued and restored... but to where, I ask myself?
Ah - my post is simply to say to watch this space about a newly found Liver Bird that I have come across and that it should be in the Echo this week....
In the meantime, anyone know where this came from?? :002:

That's had more than a few coats of paint! No idea where it's from though, but maybe a school building?
