Liverpool Cruise Liner Terminal
A £19M landing stage for cruise tourists to disembark in Liverpool city centre will finally get the go-ahead.
Senior council sources say work on the cruise liner terminal at Princes Dock, allowing world class vessels to join in the Capital of Culture celebrations, will begin "within weeks".
The project, along with Kings Dock and the Fourth Grace, was one of the key council pledges for the successful culture bid.

Name the new landing stage!
I a recent Echo article it was said that the new landing stage has yet to be named. Any suggestions?
I would call it 'The Liverpool Ocean Cruise Terminal', even though it is only a berthing facility. There have been suggestions of naming it for Samuel Cunard. I don't think old Sam is to well known outside of Liverpool, Southampton or Halifax, NS. Canada and even in Liverpool and Southampton one would be hard pressed to find anyone, born after 1960, who would know who Samuel Cunard was.
Another name I would suggest is 'The Princess Dianna Cruise Pier'. I'm not a royalist but she is very well known, and popular, beyond the United Kingdom.
