DRINKERS are to raise their glasses to Scouse entrepreneur Tony Canavan, the world's youngest brewery owner.

Mr Canavan, 25, from Liverpool city centre, will tonight officially launch his new company, Canavan's Liverpool Brewery, at the Baltic Fleet pub on Wapping.

His claim to fame has proved useful. He said: "I now introduce myself as the world's youngest brewery owner. It certainly impresses the ladies."

Mr Canavan produces two brews at his premises in Aintree: Two Churches bitter and Dublin To Liverpool stout.

He said: "I can see Liverpool's two cathedrals from my bedroom window, while the stout comes from when I was a barman in a pub on the Dock Road and it was full of people who'd come from Dublin for the Clipper race."
