| Yep you're right Greg,its just that I couldn't place the dark building at the side of it which put me off thinking it was london road area. Lidl and carpark is now standing on that ground. |

![]() I always went to The Gaumont in the late 60s early 70s. It would screen the films after they had finished their run on The Odeon, and was half the price as a result. Following closure of the cinema it reopened as a snooker hall, I remember ending up in there on stag night, you could get a drink throughout the night (a rare thing in those days), and it was daylight when we emerged. A picture from the late 60s is attached. |
