POP duo The Pet Shop Boys are to make their Summer Pops debut. more

Regulars Australian Pink Floyd will make 2006 their fifth consecutive year at the Pops.

The band is described as the biggest tribute act in the world, and will play two shows at either end of the month-long music extravaganza.

When people talk about tribute bands, you tend to cringe and think of Bjorn Again or someone cack like that.
These fellas were different, they could have been the Floyd, they sounded so alike!

CORINNE BAILEY RAE - widely hailed as this year's brightest new music talent - has been signed for Liverpool's Summer Pops.

The singer, who has already sold out an appearance at the city's Carling Academy next Tuesday, will play in the big top at Central Docks, on July 11.

Jamie Bowman of Pops production team, CMP, said: "This is the perfect opportunity to catch the hottest UK artist around before she becomes a huge star."

She joins an international line-up which boasts a double sell- out by rock legends The Who, along with shows from Bryan Adams, Pet Shop Boys, A-ha, Simply Red, Il Divo, Ronan Keating, Sugababes, James Brown, Oscar Peterson, Westlife, Whitesnake, The Australian Pink Floyd, Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy.

Tell ya what? The Summer Pops is great and I cannot wait for the Kings Dock to be finished!! I remember 1 year it being on sevvy park!
