Margi Clarke / Letter To Brezhnev

I was in the car one night a couple of weeks ago listening to Century FM and heard an unmistakable voice... that of Margi Clarke. She was covering for one of the regular presenters I think.

If anyone ever asked me to name a 'real Scouser', I'd have to say someone like Margi Clarke. I remember her in Coronation Street as Jackie Dobbs (Tyrone's Mother) a few years back and she was brilliant in that.


Anyway, we were talkin' about her an me dad asked if I'd ever seen Brezhnev, which I hadn't. So I got on Ebay and ordered the DVD. I watched the first half last night and I'm going to finish it tonight - ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT.

Did anyone else see / enjoy this film? Do any of you remember Margi in Corrie?

Yes, got that film. Alexandra Pigg who was in Brookside is also in it. Margi has a stall now and then selling beauty products in the Heritage Market. I heard her on Century.

Yeah I remember her in Corrie.She's a terrible actress.And that voice.Imagine putting up with that voice all day - I do know she over does her accent.

Personally I think she is a great actress. Letter To Brezhnev also starred Alfred Molina and Peter Firth (as the Russian sailors). I actually worked on a play that featured Margi called Ebony's Album (back in 2000 at the Neptune). It was written by and starring the late Ebony Gray (sadly missed) and also starred Louis Emerick and Leon Lopez. It was a blast.

One of my favorite films about Liverpool.

I think she is brilliant a very principled woman who has always stood up for what she believes, and a great actress too, Letter to Brehznev is a classic I think margi is very underated. didn't like her in corrie tho but I can't stand corrie.:ha ndclap::ha ndclap:

I dont hold anything against Margi, but that Coronation Street story really pissed me off. Poor innocent Deirdrie was sent to jail and who do they get to show her the ropes - A Scouser of course.
