It's ridiculous, they announced on GMTV this morning that The Liver Building is one of the ugliest landmark buildings in Britain. What rubbish! Its one of the most well known buildings world wide, and having photographed it many times I absolutely love the building, its beautiful. To lump it in with the Arndale Centre, Manchester (which I can understand being on the list of ugly buildings) is just plain silly.

Kev, I haven't looked but there may be a link on the gm.tv website for more info.

I think the Liver buildings are beautiful. Paddy's Wigwam is also a fabulous design in that its part of the city and in ariel views it gives a contrast in to the beautiful Anglician Cathedral. I love the beauty of Liverpool and its about the contrast for me.

Everyone who I know who has walked up to it is impressed. No one has ever said it was ugly.

In the TV series on right now where some guys travel overland from Ireland to Australia. They took the Seacat from the Island of Man to Liverpool. On nearing the Pier Head, one wanted to know the name of the "beautiful building", pointing at it.

If the Liver Buildings was good enough for Hitler then it's good enough for the rest of us. He gave strict instructions not to bomb it at all as that would have been his HQ had he taken over the UK!

(seriously!)

Paddy's wigwam is as ugly as sin on the outside but amazingly colourful on the inside.
