Default Matthew St. Fest. Transport Chaos!

In regard to the Matthew St. Festival event at the weekend, which I went to - but am now sorry I did! - I would just like to know WHAT on EARTH possessed them to close the Birkenhead Tunnel????

Did they not realise the absolute CHAOS this closure would cause? I had a terrible job getting a bus back over to Birkenhead, as all the buses were ridiculously diverted up to St. George's Hall's makeshift bus stop, and there were too many crowds pushing onto each bus. It was that bad that I honestly thought I was going to be stuck in Liverpool all night! When I finally got home, I was left feeling very angry about all of this transport disruption (Wirral must be the WORST place in the world for transport problems!)

If it is going to be like this every year, then I am afraid I won't be going anymore. Period. When I go to see a music festival, I expect to enjoy myself, NOT to leave feeling immensely annoyed over tunnel and transport chaos!

I must admit I did wonder how people would get home. I got a 55 bus in and we were put off in London Rd as the police had exercised their right to close the Queens Square bus station. Everyone was asking were to get the bus back and Mersey Travel were saying they had no idea where it would be leaving from. Fortunately for me, I was only on it by fluke and went back by train but I did wonder how those poor people found their bus afterwards as I heard them announce that Queens Square was still shut.

I was wondering how I was going to get home, as I suspected it was still a Sunday service, but Ged kindly gave me a lift.

I don't get the buses anymore, hate paying 1.50 a travel and that I can;t take a bike on. Too many dope smokers, smoking weed before they go to work or college to put up with the stress showing their mental Inferiority.

I see the word chaos and I am happy, thank you and keep posting you professional whiner.

Are you moaning again Singlenights, the quicker you get your end away the better for us all. What possessed them to close the tunnel was because they had a great big bloody stage in front of it, we'd have all got run over, the only disappointment was the stage wasn't actually in the mouth of the tunnel itself facing William Brown st which would have given an even wider better view. You must have known it was shut when you made your way over here or if it was by train or the Kingsway, then they were running.
