OFFICE DEVELOPMENTS Liverpool suffers from a shortage of good quality office space. The following developments should go some way to addressing this. St Pauls Square [/left] ![]() ![]() An office, shop and apartment development.First phase comprises 125,000 sq. ft. of offices, apartments, an internal shopping street linking the square to Old Hall Street and a 400 space car park. APARTMENT DEVELOPMENTS The residential population of central Liverpool has increased dramatically in the last few years with a population of around 20,000 predicted for 2008. Here are some individual apartment developments that are not part of a larger project. Garden Quarter Development ![]() A residential development by Downing Developments of the old magistrates courts in Hatton Garden in two phases. The first phase includes two new blocks (Eden Square) and the opening of a new pedestrian access through the block. The second phase will involve conversion of the old magistrates courts. Status (22.03.06): Deep car park constructed. Reinforced concrete superstructure in progress. Go to website. ![]() Developer, Huntsmere, plans to transform a former juvenile court and council offices into apartments and office space. The Aura project, is where the Tinlings building is now, will comprise of the 'Vetro' office space and the 'Atria' mixed use residential scheme. The developer said one of the most striking architectural features will be a 3 floor sculpted roof scape. It's not clear from the report if Tinlings will be demolished or converted. The Reach ![]() An 8 storey apartment block on the North side of Leeds Street comprising 271 apartments. Status (22.03.06): Externally almost complete - scaffolding being removed. The canal link will run through Stanley Dock on its way to the Pier Head. Great to see someone trying to bring fresh ideas to the city skyline. The building on Lime street would be fantastic. Mind you anything would be better than whats there at the moment. the whole concorse is a disgrace. |
