Took my Arriva pass on an outing today...ending up in Helsby.

Liverpool from Helsby Hill I ended up having to do this in sepia (due to colouring issues!). The Anglican Cathedral can be seen surrounded by its fellow landmarks such as the Liver and the Beetham West Tower. The Catholic Cathedral from this angle looks as if it has been shunted aside with the St Johns Beacon acting as referee!

Fiddlers Ferry Power Station With Winter Hill rising behind it

Birkenhead/Tranmere We look over the great sweep of the Mersey, with its shifting sands and muddy creeks, to Cammell Lairds and Birkenhead. Those with very good eyesight will also be able to pick out the very faint wind farm on the Burbo Bank

Garston The Gasometer next to the bridge is clearly visible here as well as the rear end of those new sheds that have been built at the bottom of Blackburne Street on the old Airfield. The Grey towerblock in the background is Mill Heights on Mill Street in Toxteth.

River Mersey In all it's glory, separating Cheshire from Lancashire.

Huyton and Canny Farm The Towerblocks of Huyton and Stockbridge Village can be seen here, the green masking on two of the blocks mark Knowsley Heights, these are situated on Liverpool Road at the junction with Bluebell Lane.

Liverpool and Wirral A wider shot showing our city and hinterland in all its glory.
If ever your wanting somewhere different to go...take a trip to Helsby Hill. The views are breathtaking with Warrington, Liverpool, Chester and North Wales all within a blink of each other! The view is worth the walk.
