OK One last photo. I included this poignant pic because of the Irony. It may look like nothing, but until 6 Months ago, the last surviving U-Boat in the UK was situated here, next to the East/West Float. Now its being overgrown with Poppies. A truly sad statement.

Great views! Shows the Wirral off well! If ever you want somewhere different to get some Liverpool views from, try the top of Argyle Street or New Ferry.

It is good to see some views from Eastern Wirral too!

OK, I'm struggling a little with low light/night shots. I have a Fujipix S5700 Camera. I know the colour can be pale with this, but I do try to help the worst ones out a little...:D

I can alter ISO, Shutter Speeds and Aperture.

ISO up to 1600.

Speed up to 1000

Aperture goes from 3.5 to 6.8 then up to 13.5.

Also has finepix settings color and Chrome. Whats the difference?

Anyone help me try to figure What sort of settings are best for a low light/Night shot based on those settings?

Which way grandad ?.They are replacing the old signposts on the New Brighton to Seacombe prom but they haven`t removed some old ones yet.
The old one had one of its arms moved a few years ago showing Seacombe ferry terminus across the water.

Wheres the shore house on the beach? Is It parkgate?

Any easy way to get to Parkgate though without gettting a train to Bidston then to Parkgate from Bidston?

wallasey
07-25-2008, 07:16 PM
Max: The house is at Thurstaston Shore (between Cadly/West Kirby and Heswall)

As far as Parkgate is concerned...the 487 goes to Neston/Parkgate depending on the time...if it drops you off in Neston, Parkgate is a mile down a hill. I would suggest you buy a Arriva North West Day ticket at £3.70 (your Liverpool Zone doesn't extend over the water sadly!)

Neston does have a station, but the trains are infrequent and you would have to change in Bidston. The bus is every 30 mins from Castle/Sir Thomas Street and runs through Tranmere, Bebington and Thornton Hough Village.

Hope this is of some use!

EDIT: If your after Thurstaston, Get the 71 Operated by First Wirral to Irby and then you will have a good walk to the shore.

Thanks but I might get the train all the way to west kirby then cycle straight on Column Road.

Theres that..or the Wirral Way which begins at West Kirby Station (opposide the Baths) and continues to Thustaston and Parkgate.

Column Road is pleasant but has is a little dangerous...the Irby Crossroads being one of the most notorious junctions on Wirral.

Max

Does the Wirral way have good pathways for cycles?

Last time I went on a way I walked around a whole shoreline all the way from Oglets Lane to Garston's Brunswick street on the Mersey way, the Airports totally ruined that way.

We left Kirkby at 10.30, bus 2 trains and we were in the Tea Junction cafe outside New Brighton station at 12.00,having a bin lid breakfast (large barm cakes the size of dinner plates filled with bacon, egg, black puddings, tomatoes and beans) before walking from New Brighton to Moreton on the seafront then catching the train home.

Yeah, read about that in the paper. Seems that they totally destroyed it. I don't mind kids climbing on them, but the damage I saw looks a bit more than kids were capable of.
